Josh Eden Receives Senior Athletic Award at Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell senior Josh Eden (State College, Pa./State College Area), a member of the Bison football team, received a special award at the University's annual Senior Athletic Awards Banquet, sponsored by the Bison Club and held at the Elaine Langone Center on Tuesday, May 1.
Eden won the Edward W. Pangburn Award, presented to senior athletes "for demonstrated sportsmanship, fellowship, and contribution to the University." Eden shared the award with Casey Crowley of the women's soccer team, who was the female selection.
In addition to Eden, several other student-athletes were honored at the banquet, including the winners of the Christy Mathewson Award, given to the most outstanding athletes in the senior class.
Eden was the 20th player in Patriot League history to be named to the First Team All-Patriot League at least three times. He claimed the First Team All-Patriot League selections in 2007, 2010 and 2011.
During his career Eden has accumulated 192 tackles, 40 tackles for loss, 19.5 sacks and 13 pass breakups. He has blocked 11 kicks in his career, tying him for fifth on the NCAA FCS all-time list and his career eight blocked extra points are an NCAA FCS record.
The senior will leave Bucknell in fifth place on the sacks list and tied for third in the Patriot league with a career-high 6.5 sacks during his senior season. Eden will graduate as a four-time letterwinner, a two-time team co-captain and team MVP during his junior season.
Bucknell is a highly selective, privately endowed liberal arts institution with an enrollment of approximately 3,500 undergraduate students. Bucknell competes in NCAA Division I as a member of the Patriot League and has full membership along with American, Army, Colgate, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Lehigh and Navy. Bucknell has won the Presidents' Cup, signifying the Patriot League's all-sports champion, in 17 of 21 years, including 13 of the last 14.
