Bucknell Men's Tennis Returns to Winning Form Over Colgate, 4-3

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell men's tennis team (6-10, 1-1 PL) picked up a hard-fought win over the Colgate Raiders (8-9, 1-3 PL) Friday afternoon. The Bison beat out their Patriot League opponent by the score of 4-3 at the Bucknell Varsity Tennis Courts.
The Bison took a crucial team doubles point thanks to the play of partners Gregg Cohenca and Aiden Lynch along with Evan Zimmer and Josh Katten. Cohenca and Lynch beat Alec Goldstein and Parker Lewis in a back-and-forth match 8-6 to clinch the team doubles point for Bucknell.
Zimmer and Katten managed to win 8-4 over Luke Gensburg and Sean Spellberg at the No. 2 doubles bout. The two Bucknell partners have now extended their winning streak to four after today's contest.
In singles action the Bison mustered enough energy to take three of six matches over the Raiders to seal the victory.
Senior Gregory Maxson took down his opponent in the No. 6 singles match in straight sets. Maxson defeated Connor Feuille, 6-1, 6-4.
Bucknell's Katten picked up his second win of the day after he won his No. 4 singles bout over Spellberg, 6-2, 6-7, 6-2.
Zimmer also earned his second win of the afternoon when he beat Bobby Berkowitz in three sets. Zimmer and Berkowitz battled each other in several long rallies throughout the match with the win ultimately going in favor of Zimmer, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.
The Bison will return to action Saturday morning at 11 at home against George Mason.
