Bison Lacrosse News: Eisenreich a Tewaaraton Nominee; Huffner, Neithamer Named to Patriot League All-Academic Team

LEWISBURG, Pa. –Three members of the Bucknell men's lacrosse team were recognized on Wednesday, as senior attackman Patriot\ League\ All\-Academic\ Team.
Earlier in the week Eisenreich earned First Team All-Patriot League honors for the second year in a row, recognizing his terrific 2012 campaign. Eisenreich has 31 goals and 32 assists for 63 points entering the Patriot League Tournament, placing him among the nation's top scorers. He currently ranks fifth among all Division I players in assists per game and sixth in total points per game. Eisenreich is one of two players in the country with 30 goals and 30 assists, and he became only the third player in Bucknell history to join the 30-30 club.
Eisenreich is just the seventh player in program history to record 60 points in a season, and his 32 assists are tied for eighth-most in a season at Bucknell.
Huffner and Neithamer are both starters on defense for the Bison, and in addition to their strong play on the field, they are two of the top students in the program.
Huffner has medical school aspirations and carries a 3.52 cumulative grade-point averaging as a biology major. He has volunteered and interned at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in his hometown of Elmira, and this summer he will be conducting research with a Bucknell professor while shadowing doctors at Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg. Huffner is a member of Colleges Against Cancer, and he serves as president of Bison Pals, a mentor program for adults with special needs.
On the field, Huffner has come back strong from a foot injury in the fall and is once again the team's top defenseman, typically assigned to the opposition's biggest offensive threat. Huffner has 25 caused turnovers and 29 ground balls for a defense that yields 8.8 goals per game.
Neithamer is one of the team's most versatile defenders. A terrific athlete, he plays both close defense and long-stick defensive midfield. He has 29 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers to his credit this season. Academically, Neithamer is an economics major with a minor in philosophy, and he owns a 3.42 cumulative GPA.
Last summer and this past winter break Neithamer worked with the Mortgage Industry Advisory Corporation (MIAC) in New York City, where he performed regression and comparative analysis on interest rate swaps. He also helped the company create new employee training manuals. Neithamer has also interned at a law firm in his hometown of Alexandria, Va., and along with Huffner he represents the men's lacrosse team in the Bucknell Bison Leadership Academy.
Bucknell is 9-6 on the season and ranked 18th in the nation. The Bison are seeded fourth at this weekend's Patriot League Tournament, and they will be taking on host and No. 1-seed Colgate in a semifinal game on Friday at 5 p.m. The contest will air live on CBS Sports Network.
