Bucknell Women's Rowing Advances Five Boats to Finals at Knecht Cup

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (Cooper River) –One week after holding its only home race of the spring, the Bucknell women's rowing team headed to New Jersey to compete at the Knecht Cup. The Bison advanced five boats to Sunday's finals, including three that will be racing in the Grand Finals.
The varsity eight, second varsity eight and lightweight eight will be competing in their Grand Finals, while the freshman eight and freshman four will race in their Petite Finals. The varsity eight and second varsity eight each won their heats and then finished in the top two in their semifinal races, while the lightweight eight earned its Grand Finals berth based on a second-place showing in its heat.
The freshman eight raced twice on Saturday and it won its heat, but then placed third in its semifinal to advance to Sunday's Petite Final. The freshman four was third in its heat and fourth in its semifinal and will be racing on Sunday.
Competition at the Knecht Cup will continue Sunday.
