Bucknell Women's Tennis Defeated by Georgetown

WASHINGTON – The Bucknell women's tennis team (2-11) ended its second away match this week against Georgetown (8-5) Friday afternoon. The Hoyas managed to beat the Bison 7-0. Bucknell has now lost each of its last eight outings.
The Bison were overmatched during play against Georgetown for much of the afternoon. Dumitrita Iepuras and Daria Tuzhikova fought hard in each of their singles matches but ended up on the losing end of both.
Iepuras challenged senior Lauren Greco and ended up losing 6-1, 6-1. Greco is now 8-4 in singles matches on the year.
Tuzhikova lost her No. 5 singles match to Madeline Jaeger. Jaeger jumped out to an early lead and Tuzhikova tried to battle back but eventually fell, 6-2, 6-1.
The Bison played well in the No. 2 doubles matches with Courtney Casey and Lydia Colvin taking four games against Tina Tehrani and Victoria Sekely. Tehrani and Sekely prevailed in the end, winning 8-4.
Bucknell will look to recover from today's loss next Thursday at 2 p.m. against Towson.
