Wilcox's 1-Under 71 Leads Bucknell Women's Golf at UNCW

WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Bridget Wilcox fired a 1-under-par 71 to lead the Bucknell women's golf team to a 306 team score in round one of the UNCW Seahawk Classic on Saturday at River Landing Golf Course. A pair of rain delays forced the second round to be suspended due to darkness.
After 18 holes, Bucknell was in sixth place in the 11-team field. Led by a 3-under 69 from Amanda Steinhagen, Longwood opened with a 291 for a one-shot lead over East Carolina. Old Dominion sat in third at 294, followed by UNCW at 296, James Madison (303) and Bucknell (306). Big South rivals Charleston Southern (307), Winthrop (308) and High Point (311) are just behind the Bison.
Wilcox fired a 3-under 33 on the back nine en route to her second career sub-par round. She is tied for third place, two shots behind Steinhagen.
Minjoo Lee carded a 77 and Kasha Scott and Brittany Rendell both shot 79 for Bucknell. Lauren Bernard posted an 82 that was not counted.
The teams will complete their second rounds on Sunday morning before playing their scheduled third rounds.
