Bucknell Men's Tennis Wins Final Match of Spring Break Week

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Bucknell men's tennis team finished its Spring Break week at the Lake Cane Tennis Center with a 7-0 victory over Chicago State. During the men's week in Florida they had a 2-4 record with wins coming over Siena and Chicago State.
The Bison had several singles matches go three sets, with Bucknell winning all of them. Octavio Canibe won his No. 3 singles match after losing the first-set, 5-7. Canibe quickly rebounded and swept the remaining sets, winning 5-7, 6-1, 6-4.
Senior Gregg Cohenca also played in a three-set match, winning by the score of 6-4, 6-7, 7-5. Cohenca beat out his singles opponent Mario Nabao in an enticing back-and-forth match. Cohenca and doubles partner Evan Zimmer also won their No. 1 doubles match on the afternoon, defeating Rashley Yeremia and Sergiu Muresan, 8-2.
Kyle Rosen and Zimmer both put in strong performances during their singles matches. Rosen won in straight sets over Luis Ulloa, 6-1, 6-1 and Zimmer beat Muresan, 7-6, 6-3.
Bucknell won two of its team points through default wins. One point came in the No. 6 singles slot and the other by getting the default win in the No. 3 doubles match to gain the team doubles point.
The Bison will return to play on Sunday at home against Duquesne at 2 p.m.
