Bison Men's Tennis Tennis Wins Season Opener 7-0 Over Saint Francis (PA)

LORETTO, Pa. - Bucknell men's tennis started the season on a winning note against the Red Flash. The Bison won the third doubles match of the day to help sweep all seven points from Saint Francis.
Gregg Cohenca (Purchase, N.Y./Rye County Day School) won a hard fought singles match (6-0, 7-5), to jump-start the teams 7-0 victory. Cohenca and Evan Zimmer (Essex Falls, N.J./West Essex) clinched another victory in a 9-7 first doubles match. With those two wins, Cohenca now needs just needs just one win to move into the top-ten all-time for Bison victories.
Kyle Rosen (Armark, N.Y./Byram Hills) played his part for the team contributing to a 9-7 win with doubles partner Scott Bernstein (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) over Saint Francis partners Lawson Barter and Juan Andres Pardo.
It was a fairly straightforward day for the Bison, and other than lacking some aggressiveness to finish out points, the Bison played well and worked through the early kinks to finish out the matches on a winning note.
Bucknell will look to take on a strong Penn State team Feb. 11, and hope to start the season with two strong victories.
