Bucknell Women's Tennis Falls 7-0 to St. Bonaventure

OLEAN, N.Y. – The Bucknell Bison women's tennis team came up short in a 7-0 loss to St. Bonaventure Saturday afternoon. The loss comes less than 24 hours after their first victory of the season over Niagara.
The women started off strong with Daria Tuzhikova and Dumitrita Iepuras winning the No. 1 doubles match of the day over Marissa Brossard and Amanda Pallikunnel by the score of 9-7.
The Bonnies then applied the pressure taking the next two doubles matches and claiming the first point of the afternoon. The young Bison squad attempted to mount a comeback fighting hard in the singles matches, but was ultimately overpowered.
Sophomore Elena Vidrascu played a close match against the Bonnies' Fatya Amiri but could not gain enough momentum late, eventually suffering a 6-3, 6-4 defeat.
Elizabeth Morgan garnered a first-set win over Andrea Pavlovic, however, she ended up falling short losing 2-6, 6-2, (10-3).
The women's team looks to rebound tomorrow against Duquesne at 11 a.m.
