
Bucknell Men's Water Polo Falls to No. 16 Princeton, 10-7

PRINCETON, N.J. –The Bucknell men's water polo team traveled to DeNunzio Pool Saturday evening to face No. 16 Princeton and the Bison lost to the Tigers by a 10-7 score. Bucknell, which has played seven ranked teams in 2012, fell to 6-9 on the season and 0-4 in CWPA Southern Division play.
Princeton improved to 9-8 overall and 3-1 in conference play behind three goals from Drew Hoffenberg.
The game was tied 4-4 at halftime and 6-6 after three quarters, but the Tigers outscored the Bison 4-1 in the fourth quarter.
Jack Else and Stefan Aleksic led Bucknell with three goals apiece, but only one other Bison (Nick Hale) was able to find the back of the net. Else and Aleksic each netted a pair of six-on-five scores as Bucknell was right around 50 percent in man-up situations. Brian Barron (3) and Alex Nowlin (2) each dished out multiple assists in the contest.
Matt Napleton finished with 12 saves, marking his seventh double-digit save performance of the season.
Bucknell will continue league play next weekend, Oct. 13-14, when it hosts Johns Hopkins, Navy, George Washington and Princeton. With a 4-0 weekend the Bison will finish their league schedule with a .500 record.
