Bucknell Swimming and Diving Closes Regular Season Saturday at Navy Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell men's and women's swimming and diving teams will wrap up their 2011-12 regular season Saturday at the Navy Invitational. The five-team event will begin at noon in Lejeune Hall. In addition to the Bison and host Mids, American, Lafayette and Shippensburg will send partial or full teams.
Live results from the meet can be accessed at NavySports.com. No team scoring will be compiled during the course of the meet. The Navy Invitational will be divided into two sessions with a 30-minute break slated for in between the sessions. In all, 34 events will be contested on the day.
Bucknell is coming off a sweep of Lehigh in the program's final dual meets of the season this past Saturday. The men posted a 191-107 victory, while the women defeated the Mountain Hawks 189-111. The Bison men finished the dual meet portion of their schedule 7-2, 5-1 in the Patriot League, while the women were 5-4, 4-2 in the Patriot League.
Bucknell last competed at the Navy Invitational in 2010. Both Bison squads accumulated eight first-place finishes in the tri-meet against Navy and American.
Saturday's meet will serve as a tune-up for the upcoming Patriot League Championships, which will also be held at Navy. Patriots will take place Feb. 16-18 with morning prelims beginning at 10:30 a.m. each day and the finals starting at 6 p.m.
