WITH A VICTORY OVER COLGATE, BUCKNELL WOULD...
• Snap a six-game overall losing streak.
• Win its third consecutive game against the Raiders.
• Win its sixth road game against the Raiders in seven tries. The lone loss in Hamilton during that stretch came 62-58 in Feb. 2010.
• Improve to 15-10 all-time at Colgate.
• Give head coach Kathy Fedorjaka her 23rd win over the Raiders, tying her highest wins total against all opponents.
QUICK FACTS
• Rachel Voss was named the Susquehanna Valley Limousine Bison Athlete of the Week on Jan. 9. Lindsay Horbatuck also claimed the award on Dec. 13. It is the first time two women's basketball players have been named a Bison Athlete of the Week in the same season since 2007-08.
• Bucknell has scored more points off turnovers than its opponent in three games this year - vs. NJIT (17-7), Fordham (11-6), Yale (27-21).
• Bucknell has been outscored by an average of 19.5 points in the four games since returning from the holiday break.
• Shelby Romine became the first current Bison to 500 career points when the Bison played Yale. She is currently at 521.
• If the season were to end today, Bucknell's 49.9 scoring average would be the second-lowest in program history (46.3 ppg in 1974-75).
• Bucknell has at least three blocked shots in all but three games this season.
• Bucknell's eight-game losing streak earlier this season is tied for the third longest in program history.
• The Bison went 8-5 at home but 3-12 on the road during the 2010-11 season. All three road victories came during Patriot League play.
• The Bison were fourth in the 2011-12 Preseason Patriot League Poll.
LAST MEETING WITH COLGATE - FEB. 19, 2011
• Bucknell 79, Colgate 64 (Sojka Pavilion)
• Cosima Higham scored a season-high 22 points, two more Bison finished in double-digit scoring and Bucknell shot better than 50 percent from the field, spurring them to 79-64 win over Colgate. The dominant offensive production on Senior Night kept the Orange and Blue tied for fourth place in the Patriot League standings with one week remaining in the regular season.
• Higham's 22 points came on 11 of 13 shooting (.846) and was accompanied by six rebounds, five assists, two steals and a blocked shot. Joyce Novacek led all players with 10 rebounds, bringing her career total to 697 and moving her into ninth all-time at Bucknell. As a team, the Bison outrebounded the Raiders 45-24.
• Bucknell had 16 second-chance points compared to just six for Colgate. Higham was responsible for many of those buckets as the Bison frequently got deep in the shot clock before being forced into a jumper. Higham cleaned up several misses and turned them into layups.
• The Bison's 12-point lead at the half held steady for several minutes until a 7-0 run gave Bucknell even more breathing room. Rachel Voss kicked off the run, giving Bucknell a 48-36 lead with 15 minutes to play. Three minutes later, the lead was up to 17 and never again dipped below 13 points for the remainder of the game.
• Bucknell shot an impressive .545 (12-for-22) from the field in the second half, bringing their game percentage to .509 (27-for-53). Their recent hot shooting directly resulted in its longest winning streak since the 2008-09 season. The Bison won three straight for the first time since defeating Holy Cross, Lafayette and Colgate in the second round of Patriot League play two years earlier.
HISTORY VS. COLGATE
• Bucknell leads 36-19 in the all-time series with Colgate. The Bison have won 12 of the 15 games in the series, and 11 of the last 13 have been decided by double figures. The only two games that were not decided by 10 or more points ended in Raiders victories. Both of last season's meetings, which were Bison wins, were won by an average of 12.5 points.
• Colgate has had its field goal percentage held to under .300 six times in their last 12 meetings with Bucknell. The lowest came on Feb. 21, 2009, when the Raiders shot .241 from the field and included a 9.1 percentage in the first half. The Bison ended up with a 53-35 win at the end of the night. Colgate shot just .279 from the field in the teams' meeting in Jan. 2011.
• Bucknell has outrebounded Colgate in each of their last four contests. The largest positive rebounding margin for the Orange and Blue during that stretch is 21, coming 45-24 on Feb. 19, 2011.
• When Bucknell won 76-66 in overtime last January, it was just the second time in the 55-game series that a contest when to extra time. The Bison are 2-0 in overtime games vs. the Raiders, having also won 81-72 on Jan. 10, 1989. The Bison have played only one other opponent more often but with fewer overtime decisions. In 67 games, Bucknell and Lafayette have needed overtime just once.

ABOUT THE RAIDERS
Colgate is trying to make some changes this season. Now with an entirely new coaching staff, the Raiders are 3-13 overall and 0-1 in the Patriot League after falling to American (56-43) on Saturday. All three victories came in December, including back-to-back decisions over Wagner (71-59) and NJIT (54-44) and a more recent 75-50 win over Iona.
The Raiders were voted eighth in the Patriot League Preseason Poll. They are also without their 2010-11 Second Team All-League selection Tayler Wejnert. Back is Jhazmine Lynch, the 2009-10 Patriot League Rookie of the Year who is currently leading the team in scoring (13.7) and steals (1.5).
VOSS A BISON ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Rachel Voss became the second women's basketball player this season to be named the Susquehanna Valley Limousine Bison Athlete of the Week on Monday. The junior averaged 12.0 points and 5.5 rebounds last week. Included in that run was a career-high 21 points vs. Army and a career-high-tying nine rebounds vs. Yale.
Lindsay Horbatuck was named the Bison Athlete of the Week on Dec. 13 after recording a double-double against Fordham. The junior forward totaled 12 points and 14 rebounds in 32 minutes of play against the Rams, helping the Bison to a 49-39 win. It is the first time since Hope Foster, Kesha Champion and Kristina Collymore in 2007-08 that more than one women's basketball player has been named the Bison Athlete of the Week during the same season.
COLGATE QUICK FACTS
• Bucknell has played four teams in program history 50 or more times - Lehigh (68 games), Lafayette (67), Colgate (55) and Holy Cross (50). Colgate is the only team on that list against which the Bison have a winning record at 36-19.
• Bucknell is 20-4 all-time against Colgate when playing at home. The Bison still have a winning record in Hamilton against the Raiders, but the margin is smaller at 14-10. Neutral courts seem to give the Bison troubles, however, as they are 2-5 against Colgate at a neutral site.
• Bucknell outscores Colgate by 8.6 points in home games and 4.0 points in road games. The Bison have been outscored by 6.1 points in neutral site games with the Raiders.
• On March 3, 2007, top-seeded Bucknell lost to No. 8 Colgate in the Patriot League Tournament, 69-62. It was the first and only time in league tournament history that the No. 8 team defeated the No. 1 seed.
BUCKNELL RECORDS NO STRANGER TO COLGATE
Bucknell has set a number of Sojka Pavilion and program records despite Colgate's best efforts. The most recent came just last January when Shelby Romine set a Bucknell record and tied the Patriot League high mark with 19 made field goals. Then a freshman, Romine shot 19-for-21 from the line, including 9-for-9 in overtime to help the Bison to a 76-66 victory.

20-SOMETHINGS
Bucknell has had some high-scoring outputs against Colgate in recent years. The Bison have had one player score at least 20 points in three of the teams' last four meetings. Rachel Voss tallied 20 on Jan. 23, 2010, a total that stood as her career high until last Saturday's 21-point performance. Shelby Romine then scored a career-high 28 on Jan. 22, 2011, and Cosima Higham totaled a season-best 22 against the Raiders last February.
REBOUNDING FIRST
Through 16 games this winter, Lindsay Horbatuck is averaging more rebounds (7.3) than points (5.6). That is not as unusual as it might seem as the junior finished each of her previous two seasons with a similar ratio as well. As a freshman she closed out the campaign with 4.1 boards and 4.0 points per game, while as a sophomore she finished at 4.3 rebounds and 4.2 points.
IN THE LAST SIX ...
Bucknell might be in the middle of a six-game losing streak, but several Bison are putting up some improved numbers during that stretch. Rachel Voss is averaging 11.2 points (.455; 30-66 FG) and 5.0 rebounds in the last six games. Shelby Romine is also at 8.2 points and 4.2 assists per game, while Alyssa Dunn and Christina Chukwuedo are averaging than 7.0 points per outing. As a team, the Bison are shooting .372 from the field, but their opponents are at .473. The squad's scoring margin has dipped to -20.3 and the rebounding margin to -4.2 in those six games as well.
HIGHS AND LOWS
A look at some of Bucknell's numbers against Army on Saturday may leave you wondering how the game ended in a loss. The Bison shot .519 from the field, made 27 field goals and held the Black Knights to 48 field goal attempts. They also made five 3-pointers, dished out 15 assists and turned the ball over 12 times. All of those numbers are the best of the season for Bucknell. Unfortunately, Army also shot .521 overall, the highest by a Bucknell opponent this winter. The Bison's 17 defensive rebounds and 25 total boards were their lowest totals of the year.
ROMINE RECAP VS. ARMY
Sophomore Shelby Romine put together one of the best games of her career on Saturday vs. Army, but her success against the Black Knights is nothing new. The guard, who totaled 17 points in 40 minutes of play this weekend, is now averaging 16.8 points and 40.0 minutes against Army. She also has 3.8 assists per game in those four meetings.
UP NEXT
After taking on the Raiders, Bucknell will enjoy a short stand at Sojka Pavilion when it plays back-to-bach games at home. First up is Lafayette at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14. The Bison have won each of the last two meetings with the Leopards and held them to fewer than 50 points in each of those contests.
