MADISON, Wis. --Competing on the road for the first time in 2011-12, the Bucknell women's golf team opened with a 321 team score at Wisconsin's Badger Invitational on Sunday. Round two was delayed by rain and ultimately suspended due to darkness. It will be concluded prior to the scheduled third and final round on Monday.
Lauren Bernard led the Bison with a 78 in the first round. Minjoo Lee posted an 80, followed by Kasha Scott with an 81, Kelsey Maybin with an 82 and Bridget Wilcox with a 93. In the second round, Scott was 4-over-par through 15 holes and Bernard was 4-over through 13.
Bernard made three birdies in her opening round and shot a 1-over 37 on the back nine. She has parred 11 of 13 holes in her second round, but a couple of double-bogeys has her at 4-over for the round.
When play was suspended, Bucknell sat in ninth place. Host Wisconsin opened up with a 292 team score and ended the day 14-over as a team. SMU is in second place, two shots back, while third-place Georgetown is another 18 behind the Mustangs.
Felicia Espericueta of SMU is the individual leader at 3-under, one shot better than Amy Anderson of North Dakota State.
