Bucknell Places 259 Student-Athletes on University's 2011 Spring Semester Dean's List and 280 on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Two-hundred fifty-nine Bucknell University student-athletes have earned Dean's List honors for the 2011 spring semester. Students must earn at least a 3.50 grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) for selection to the Dean's List.
Included among the student-athletes on the Dean's List last semester were 45 team captains and 31 student-athletes earning perfect 4.0 averages.
In addition, 280 spring sport student-athletes were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll this past semester. To earn Honor Roll recognition, a student-athlete achieve a grade-point average of 3.20 or better during the semester of competition.
Captains named to the Dean's List included: G.W. Boon (men's basketball), Kristin Bretscher (women's track & field), Allegra Colandro (women's rowing), John Collett (men's lacrosse), Lindsay Cover (women's rowing), Alyssa DeLorenz (women's lacrosse) Victoria Dudley (women's rowing), Dara Dwojewski (women's tennis), Josh Eden (football), Drew Fitzgerald (men's track & field), Alison Ford (softball), Stephanie Franks (women's rowing), Molly Goebel (women's swimming & diving), Stephanie Hardenstine (women's cross country/track & field), Cosima Higham (women's basketball), Anna Johnson (women's rowing), Taylor Jordan (women's rowing), Heidi Kamp (volleyball), Macey Keath (women's swimming & diving), Anton Kovic (men's tennis), Casey Krause (women's track & field), Jamie Leacock (women's track & field), Lauren Lucido (women's tennis), Meghan McNally (women's water polo), Sarah Moniz (women's cross country/track & field), Travis Nissley (football), Joyce Novacek (women's basketball), Caitlyn Oster (women's rowing), Taylor Phillips (women's basketball), John Picardo (men's track & field), Corinne Raczek (field hockey), Rachel Rodriguez (volleyball), Sam Rollandi (softball), Lauren Rottkamp (women's tennis), Carol Schoenecker (women's rowing), Zachary Shapiro (men's track & field), Doug Shribman (baseball), Jessie Snyder (softball), Ashley St. John (women's lacrosse), Brooke Stokes (women's soccer), Laura Twichell (women's swimming & diving), Jason Vollmar (football) and Michael Volpe (men's swimming & diving).
Twenty-three of Bucknell's varsity sport programs achieved a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher for the 2011 spring semester. The men's tennis team led all men's sports with a 3.38 semester GPA, while the women's soccer squad posted the highest GPA of all of BU's sports with a 3.59 team average.
Bucknell (enrollment 3,583) competes in NCAA Division I (Division I FCS for football) as a member of the Patriot League.
