The Buckys Are Back! Bucknell Athletics Year-End Awards Show Set for May 4

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The second edition of The Buckys – Bucknell Athletics year-end awards extravaganza – is set for Monday, May 4 at Sojka Pavilion. Sophomore Kennedy Narine of the rowing team and junior Myles Takats from the wrestling squad will serve as this year's student emcees.
Bucknell's traditional Senior Awards Banquet was reimagined last year, in response to feedback from the Bucknell Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Bison student-athlete leaders. The ceremony was expanded to include student-athletes from all classes and was re-branded as The Buckys.
While many of the traditional awards, such as the Christy Mathewson Award for the top athletes in the graduating class and the Alvin F. Jackson Jr. Memorial Scholar-Athlete Award, continue to be presented to members of the senior class, several awards were revamped and made open to student-athletes from all classes, such as the Ronald J. "Pete" Pedrick Award (Breakout Performers of the Year), The Bryan-Humphreys Award (Rookies of the Year), and the Bison Club Award (Athletes of the Year).
In addition to the presentation of awards, The Buckys also features interactive elements. Student-athletes in attendance will vote on several new awards, such as Moment of the Year and Team of the Year.
The Buckys are set for Monday, May 4 at Sojka Pavilion. Doors open at 6:15 p.m., with the program starting at 7 p.m. While the event is planned exclusively for Bucknell student-athletes, coaches, and staff, the award winners will be announced on social media throughout the evening, and a recording of the event will be made available later on the Bucknell Athletics YouTube channel.
