LEWISBURG, Pa. - A pair of high school teammates, two newcomers with siblings on the Bison men's water polo team and a Pennsylvania native headline the Bucknell women's water polo recruiting class, which new head coach John McBride announced Tuesday. Five members of the Class of 2015 will join the Bison program this fall in preparation for next spring's 2012 campaign.
"I am very excited about the incoming freshman class," said McBride, who will enter his first season as Bucknell head coach next spring. "The individual strengths and abilities of the student-athletes should assist our program in continuing its high level of achievement."
Recruits Sayeh Bozorghadad and Barbara Peterson were teammates at Castilleja High School before signing with Bucknell, while Taylor Barnett and two-sport recruit Emily Norton both have older brothers who are currently Bison. Mary Morris is an in-state newcomer from Lansdale, Pa., who helped North Penn High School to two state titles.
The incoming class will help to fortify a Bucknell squad that lost three seniors to graduation from a team that compiled 13 wins against a difficult schedule that included eight nationally ranked opponents.
