Bucknell Women's Swimming and Diving Welcomes 10-Person Recruiting Class

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women's swimming and diving team on Tuesday announced the addition of 10 recruits to the program. Head coach Dan Schinnerer inked a class that includes seven swimmers and three divers. The incoming recruits will join a Bison program that has been among the best in the Patriot League over the last decade, finishing in the top three at the championship meet every year since 2001. During that span Bucknell has claimed four titles and finished second four times.
The Class of 2015 includes student-athletes from nine different states and the only state represented twice is Florida. Additionally, two of the newcomers have relatives that graduated from or currently attend Bucknell.
“We are excited to have another large and talented class joining our team this fall,” said Schinnerer, who coached a Bison team with nine freshman this past winter. “We believe this group of young women has the potential make an impact on the team and in the league right away. We know improvement across the board is necessary for us to compete at the top end of the league and I believe this group will certainly help us towards that end.”
Bucknell lost just four seniors to graduation in 2011 as Molly Goebel, Macey Keath, Sinead O'Dwyer and Laura Twichell received their diplomas last month.
The Bison posted a 7-4 overall mark in 2010-11 and they were 4-2 opposite Patriot League foes. Bucknell finished in third place at the Patriot League Championships and had five members of the All-Patriot League Teams.
