LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's track and field team placed 44 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced on Thursday. The total was the highest in the league by more than a dozen as the Bison were led by Nicholas Hruch (Sykesville, Md./Liberty), John Picardo (Rochester, N.Y./Hilton Central) and Jake Schroeder (York, Pa./York Suburban), who each recorded a perfect 4.0 grade-point average during the spring semester.
A total of 184 men's track and field student-athletes across the Patriot League were named to the Academic Honor Roll. Bucknell's 44 selections led the way, followed by Holy Cross with 29, Lehigh with 25 and Army with 21. Of the 184 award winners, 10 student-athletes earned GPAs of 4.0. Only Bucknell had three with perfect GPAs.
Among those with a perfect grade-point average last spring was Picardo, who also earned selections to the Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team and the inaugural Academic All-Patriot League Team. Robert Arent (New Providence, N.J./New Providence), Jordan Donaldson (Saxton, Pa./Tussey Mountain) and Luke Webster (Pataskala, Ohio/Newark Catholic) were also academic all-league honorees.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
