LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell field hockey will welcome nine new members for the 2011 season, head coach Jeremy Cook announced on Friday. Included in the Class of 2015 are student-athletes from six different states who have combined for four state championship titles in high school, three all-state selections, two assignments with the Junior Olympic squad and multiple roster spots at the National Field Hockey Festival and Futures Championship.
The newest additions will join a team that went 7-12 overall and 3-2 in the Patriot League in 2010. The Bison claimed a number of awards, including the Patriot League Rookie of the Year (Rachel Misko), five all-league citations and the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year (Christine Weiss). Bucknell's 2011 season will get underway in August.

Kristen Felt (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) – four-year letterwinner in field hockey at Scarborough High School … named 2010 Miss Maine Field Hockey and First Team All-State … also earned Faith Littlefield Award as the MVP of the SMAA League as a senior … 2010 Northeast Region All-American … SMAA All-Academic Team and NFHCA High School National Academic Squad member in 2010 … named to Portland Press Herald All-State Team as a senior … member of team that went 18-0 and won the state championship in 2009 … four-time National Field Hockey Festival participant and two-time national indoor participant … played in National Futures Championship 2007-09 … selected to Junior Olympic team in 2009 … also a Junior Olympic alternate in 2008 … daughter of Connie and Robert Felt.
Cassandra Lawrence (Arnold, Md./Broadneck) – three-year field hockey letterwinner at Broadneck High School … daughter of Carl and Janice Lawrence.
Kelsey Mucelli (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown Area) – lettered four times in field hockey, basketball and soccer at Kutztown Area High School … named Berks County Division IV Field Hockey Player of the Year and All-County Field Hockey Team as a senior … also named Second Team All-State … Academic All-State in 2010 and Berks County All-Academic Team member 2007-09 in field hockey … selected to All-Division First Team as a junior … in soccer, named an All-County midfielder in 2010 and First Team All-Division 2008 and 2009 … daughter of Richard and Christine Mucelli.
Maggie Murphy (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) – three-year letterwinner in field hockey at Emmaus High School … also earned two letters in track & field … member of team that won state championships in 2007 and 2010 … team also won three league and district titles and was a state quarterfinalist twice … great-great-grandfather, Charles Teufel, graduated from Bucknell in 1910 and played baseball for three seasons with Christy Mathewson … grandfather, Walter Murphy, and brothers, Caleb and Samuel, also participated in college athletics … daughter of Charles and Rebecca Murphy.
Hope Obernesser (Akron, Ohio/Hathaway Brown) – lettered in field hockey and track & field at the Hathaway Brown School … member of team that advanced to state championship semifinals four years and won the state title in 2008 … named Cleveland Plain Dealer All-Star and First Team Northeast Ohio as a senior … National Futures participant for five years and was a National Field Hockey Festival participant 2008-10 … selected to Junior Olympics in 2008 … won first-ever athlete community service award at Hathaway Brown for efforts in Play 4 the Cure in the state of Ohio … daughter of Mark and Carole Obernesser … father played baseball at Hartwick College … brother, Gregory, was a member of the swimming & diving team at St. Lawrence University.
Gabby Palumbo (Williamstown, N.J./The Peddie School) – lettered in field hockey four times at The Peddie School … three-time selection to the Trentonian All-Prep Team … named Trenton Times First Team All-Prep twice and Second Team once … also a three-time All-Prep honoree by the Star Ledger … Trenton Times and the Trentonian First Team All-Area in 2010 … selected to Central Jersey Field Hockey Coaches Association Second Team and Mid-Atlantic Prep League First Team 2008-10 … National Indoor Tournament participant in 2009 and 2011 … National Field Hockey Festival participant 2007-10 … daughter of Janine and Anthony Palumbo.
Amie Pritchard (Rumson, N.J./Kent School (Conn.)) – four-year letterwinner in field hockey and lacrosse at the Kent School … also earned three letters in ice hockey … named MVP of field hockey team freshman, sophomore and senior years … selected to play in New England All-Star Game all four years … named to New England All-Star Game in lacrosse as a junior and senior … team captain … daughter of Lisa and Tyson Pritchard.
Elizabeth Riegel (Darien, Conn./Darien) – Captain of Darien High School team as a senior … earned First Team All-State and First Team All-Conference honors … also named FCIAC Final MVP and All-FCIAC East … FCIAC Scholar-Athlete of the Month … daughter of Harriet and Guy Riegel.
Liz Wills (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./William Penn Charter School) – earned four letters in field hockey and three in lacrosse at William Penn Charter School … selected 2010 field hockey team MVP … also named All-Inter-Academic League First Team as a senior … 2008 All-Inter-Academic League Honorable Mention … four-year varsity starter with field hockey team … named a 2010 All-Star at National Indoor Showcase and National Outdoor Showcase … National Field Hockey Festival participant in 2009 and 2010 … member of gold medal team at 2010 National AAU Championships … two-year USFHCA Futures participant … three-year varsity starter with lacrosse team … 2010 team captain with field hockey and 2011 captain for lacrosse … daughter of Frank and Liz Wills … brother, Brendan, is a member of the Bucknell Class of 2011 and is a member of the swimming & diving team … brother, Frank, was a member of the swimming & diving team at West Chester University … mother swam and played field hockey at La Salle … mother was also a Field Hockey National Champion and is a member of the La Salle Hall of Athletes … grandfather, Lou McCabe, played soccer at Ursinus College … great-grandfather, Louis McCabe, played professional baseball with the Philadelphia Athletics.
