Bucknell Women's Rowing Collects Two Wins at Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Crew Championships

FAIRFAX, Va. (Occoquan Reservoir) – Three Bucknell boats competed at the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Crew Championships on Sunday and two came away victorious as the varsity lightweight eight and second varsity lightweight eight posted victories at the event held on the Occoquan Reservoir in Fairfax, Va.

The Bison varsity lightweight eight defeated Loyola's (Md.) varsity eight by more than seven seconds, while the second varsity eight beat out another Bucknell boat for its title. The third varsity eight finished second to its lightweight teammates in the four-boat race.

Bucknell will next be in action May 13-14 when the whole team travels to the Dad Vail Regatta for the first time since 2006. It will be the Bison's second trip to the Schuylkill River this year, following a season-opening appearance at the Murphy Cup.
