Eventually it was Rosen's turn to make waves as the freshman defeated Fraser Croad for the all-important fourth point of the tilt. Rosen took the opening set 6-3 off his opponent, but fell 6-4 in the second. He secured his first three-set victory of the spring with a 6-4 decision in the third.

Maxson and Martin Cederqvist battled through an even tighter match. Both of the first two sets were decided in tiebreaks with Maxson winning the first and Cederqvist taking the second. Maxson wrapped things up in a super tiebreaker, 10-8.
