Bucknell Women's Golf Finishes 9th at Jackrabbit Invite

PRIMM, Nev. -- For the second time in the tournament, the Bucknell women's golf team was closing in a very good round before running into some trouble on the closing holes, and the Bison finished with a round of 312 and a ninth-place standing at the Jackrabbit Invitational. Bridget Wilcox had the low round of the day for the Bison with a 77, while Katie Jurenovich was the low Bucknell player for the tournament at 230 (77-75-78).
Jurenovich finished in a tie for 21st place individually, while Wilcox was T-27th at 231 (78-76-77). Minjoo Lee (79-78-79) also posted three rounds in the 70s.
Lauren Bernard added a 78 on Tuesday after firing a 76 in the second round a day earlier. Also for the Bison, Kasha Scott shot 82 after opening with a pair of 78s.
Brittany Rendell, playing as an individual, had Bucknell's best round of the day with a 4-over-par 75. Rendell shot 77-86 on Monday.
Oral Roberts closed with a 287, the best round of the tournament, to win the team title by 11 strokes over Missouri State. Iowa finished third, followed by South Dakota State, Oakland, UMKC, Western Illinois, North Dakota State, Bucknell, Southern Utah, Drake, Northern Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota.
North Dakota State's Amy Anderson, who was seven shots down at the start of the final round, shot a 3-under 68 and won the individual title by two over Kelsey Welber of Missouri State.
The Bison return to action this Saturday and Sunday at the C&F Intercollegiate, hosted by William & Mary at Ford's Colony Country Club in Williamsburg, Va.
