Lucido, Dwojewski Post Victories in 5-2 Bucknell Women's Tennis Loss to Duquense

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Lauren Lucido (Woodstock, Md./St. Paul's School for Girls) and Dara Dwojewski (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) posted singles wins for Bucknell, but Duquesne claimed the doubles point and four singles matches en route to a 5-2 women's tennis win on Saturday. The Bison fell to 0-2 this season as they played their second road match in as many days.
Lucido's singles win was the 73rd of her career as she tied Chelsea Mills for fifth place on the program's all-time singles wins list. She is now 73-31 in her singles career after her 6-4, 5-2 (default) victory over Ana Mungro at No. 1. Lucido is now 2-0 this spring, following a 7-5 fall campaign. She posted Bucknell's lone win in a 6-1 loss at Pittsburgh on Friday.
Dwojewski earned the other point for the Bison, winning over Alrissa Tobe at No. 6.
Dumitrita Iepuras (Chisinau, Moldova/Germantown Friends School) forced three sets at No. 2 singles, but ended up falling 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.
Duquesne (1-3) won the doubles point by sweeping all three matches. Dwojewski and Iepuras at No. 3 doubles put up Bucknell's best performance, dropping their match 8-4.
The Bison will be back in action Tuesday afternoon when they face Penn State at 2 p.m. in University Park, Pa.
