Bucknell Women's Soccer Places League-High 20 on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Bison women's soccer team turned in another banner season off the field, as 20 student-athletes from a roster of 26 earned spots on the Patriot\ League\ Academic\ Honor\ Roll. Bucknell and American tied for the most Honor Roll selections in the eight-team league.
Earlier this year, coach Ben Landis' squad was honored with an NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 15th year in a row. The Bison compiled an outstanding team grade-point average of 3.56, which ranked ninth among all Division I programs.
Senior Christa Matlack (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport), was one of the 20 Honor Roll members. Matlack already captured NSCAA Scholar All-America honors for the second year in a row in addition to repeating as the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year in 2010.
In fact, all seven of Bucknell's seniors earned spots on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Four of those seniors -- Matlack, Caitlin Holtz (Freehold, N.J./Peddie School), Kelsey Johnson (Monroe, Conn./Masuk) and Kelliann Doherty (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional) -- were also All-Patriot League selections.
Five Bison -- seniors Matlack and Brooke Stokes (Gladwyne, Pa./Shipley School), juniors Tara Cort (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) and Sadie Canter (Dresden, Ohio/Tri-Valley) and sophomore Meghan Fitzpatrick (Verona, N.J./Verona) -- qualified with perfect 4.0 GPAs last semester.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must have achieved a 3.2 grade-point average in the fall semester.
