Bucknell Women's Golf Much Improved on Day 2 at Kiawah

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Katie Jurenovich fired a 2-over-par 74 and the Bucknell women's golf team improved by 18 strokes from round one to round two with a 313 on Monday at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic. The Bison moved up one spot into 27th place with 18 holes still to come on Tuesday.
Despite a significant 24-hour improvement, the Bison left the course Monday lamenting two double bogeys and a triple bogey on their final hole of the day. Jurenovich posted the 17th-best individual score in round two in a field of 171 players. After opening with an 80, Jurenovich is now tied for 48th place.
Also for the Bison, Bridget Wilcox shot 78 in the second round, Minjoo Lee fired a 79, Lauren Bernard posted an 82, and Kasha Scott shot 86.
Miami (Fla.) entered the day in a tie for first, but the Hurricanes opened up a seven-shot lead with a second-round score of 297 (593 total). Campbell is second at 600, followed by Florida International and Western Carolina at 601.
Sarah Bejgrowicz of Campbell is 4-under for the tournament and has a one-stroke lead over Blaire Minter of Western Carolina. Mitsuki Katahira of Daytona State and Betsy Birchall of William & Mary are also under par at -1.
