LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell sophomore David Magaro (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro Area) was named the Patriot League Male Diver of the Week, the league office announced Monday. Magaro posted first-place finishes of both the one-meter and three-meter boards in the Bison's 170-122 victory over Lehigh on Saturday.
Magaro registered nearly identical scores on both boards as he tallied a season-best 268.73 off the one-meter and a 268.65 off the three-meter. Following his first sweep of the year, Magaro now has a total of three first-place showings this season, while his three-meter win was his first in five tries this campaign.
Magaro's three-meter score was his second-best this season, while his one-meter mark was the third time he has scored better than 268 this year.
A member of Bucknell's top-10 lists off both boards, Magaro ranks second in program history off the one-meter board (295.65) and third off the three-meter (287.45).
This is the second time this season Magaro has been honored as the Patriot League Male Diver of the Week. He was cited following a one-meter win against Colgate in November. He earned the honor once as a freshman.
Magaro and his Bison teammates will be back in action this weekend. Bucknell (6-4, 4-2 PL) hosts Connecticut Friday at 6 p.m. and the Bison Invitational Saturday at 12 p.m.
