MADISON, Wis. - In yet another milestone for the Bucknell women's golf program, the Bison had three players shoot 74 or better in the same round for the first time in team history on Monday as the Badger Invitational wrapped up at University Ridge Golf Course. Bucknell finished with a 305, the fifth-best score of the day in the star-studded field, led by a 1-over-par 73 from freshman Kasha Scott (Cherry Hills Creek, Colo./Cherry Creek) and 74s from Minjoo Lee (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) and Katie Jurenovich (Warren, Ohio/Howland).
The strong finish allowed Bucknell to pass Drake and move up a spot to a 10th-place finish. The Bison totaled 942 for the 54-hole event. Host Wisconsin won it with an 879, followed by Augusta State (881), Iowa (894), Xavier (902), Southern Methodist (920), Bradley (921), Georgetown (922), UTEP (926) and North Dakota State (934).
Scott made four birdies and nothing worse than bogey en route to her 73. She also shot 75 in the opening round and might have been in contention for a top-10 finish if not for a rough second round (88). Scott totaled nine birdies for the week and has now posted 75 or better in three of her first six collegiate rounds.
Lee played her usual consistent golf on Monday, accumulating two birdies and four bogeys en route to the 74, her best score of the week. Lee finished her final round with a birdie, and at 230 total was the low Bucknell player in the tournament (T22nd overall).
Jurenovich bounced back from a couple of 80s on Sunday to finish with a 74. After a bogey-bogey-double stretch early in her round, Jurenovich played her final 14 holes in 2-under, including birdies on Nos. 2, 9 and 11.
Bucknell's fourth score was an 84 from freshman Lauren Bernard (Malvern, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame), while freshman Bridget Wilcox (Bernardsville, N.J./Taft School) shot 85.
The team's 305 was the fifth-best score in program history, with all five coming in the last three tournaments dating back to the season-ending Big South Championship in the spring.
Wisconsin's Carly Werwie won the individual title with a 3-under 213. She was two strokes better than Xavier's Audrey Fellmeth.
Bucknell will be back in action this Saturday and Sunday at the Nittany Lion Invitational in State College, Pa.
