LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Bucknell women's soccer team will make its first appearance on Bison Vision Wednesday night when it hosts Mount St. Mary's in a non-league game beginning at 7 p.m. The Bison will be looking to get back into the win column and put an end to a frustrating seven-game losing streak, while Mount St. Mary's, idle for the last 10 days, comes in with a record of 2-3-2.
Bucknell will be looking to improve to 10-0 all time against The Mount, but the Northeast Conference squad has been tough defensively this year, and the two team played 90 scoreless minutes a year ago before the Bison prevailed in overtime.
Bucknell is searching for its first win since an Aug. 27 victory over Ohio. That was a solid result for the Bison, coming against a Bobcats squad that has beaten Pittsburgh, Marshall and Morehead State this season. But the team has been hampered by some injures in the back and midfield and has conceded at least two goals in every game since the clean sheet against Ohio. The team has played better in the last week, however. Over the last three games Bucknell lost an overtime heartbreaker to Saint Francis (Pa.), was in a 1-0 game at the half with powerful Penn State before falling 5-1, and was embroiled in a scoreless deadlock with Cornell on Sunday before two defensive breakdowns resulted in second-half goals.
Christa Matlack continues to lead the Bison and rank among the Patriot League leaders with four goals.
Mount St. Mary's last played on Sept. 12, a 1-1 draw with NJIT. Also this season, The Mount has 1-0 wins over Towson and VMI, a 1-1 tie with George Mason and losses to Navy (1-0), George Washington (1-0 OT) and Longwood (4-0).

Series Notes
Bucknell has won all nine previous meetings with Mount St. Mary's, outscoring The Mount 41-5 in those contests. Five of those nine series wins have come at home.
Last season in Emmittsburg, Md., Molly Linhart fired a 25-yard shot into the top corner of the goal 5:51 into sudden-death overtime, lifting Bucknell to a 1-0 victory in the first night game ever played at Mount St. Mary's. Goalkeeper Colleen Garrehy made four saves en route to her first career shutout. The Bison finished with a 14-9 shot advantage but could not dent the back of the net until the game's 96th minute.
In the last game between these two teams played in Lewisburg, Bucknell did not allow a shot until the 64th minute, finished with a 35-2 shot advantage and secured a 4-0 win on the strength of two Nicole Marotta goals and one each from Jennifer Dervarics and Chelsea Brinkman. Caitlin Holtz had two assists in that game, while Casey Crowley and Christa Matlack had one each.
Bison Notebook
Christa Matlack is tied for fourth in the Patriot League with four goals and nine points.
With 29 career goals, Matlack is now alone in sixth place on Bucknell's career chart. Next on the list is Kerry McDonnell with 30 goals.
With her goal against Penn State last week, Matlack became the sixth player in program history to record 70 career points. McDonnell ranks fifth all-time with 76 points, six ahead of Matlack.
Last time out, the Bison played a scoreless first half with Cornell, but second-half goals by Maneesha Chitanvis (58') and Annmarie Irwin (70:26) were the difference for the Big Red. Bucknell split the goalkeeping duties in that one. Sandita McDermott started and made four saves, while Colleen Garrehy made three saves in the second half. Kelliann Doherty had three shots for the Bison, who were outshot in the game 15-13. Bucknell's five-game winning streak against Cornell came to an end.
Freshman Alex Degarmo and sophomore Taryn Boucher made their first career starts in Sunday's game.
Senior Caitlin Holtz ranks sixth on Bucknell's career assists chart with 14. She is one assist away from moving into the top five. Krista Lee Gentile had 15 helpers from 2004-07.
