Bucknell Women's Rowing Sweeps Two Races from MIT

SHAMOKIN DAM, Pa. (Susquehanna River) - The Bucknell women's rowing team hosted new Patriot League member MIT on the Susquehanna River for the second consecutive year Saturday morning and won both races. The Bison novice eight and second varsity eight both posted victories.
In the first race of the day, Bucknell's novice eight defeated MIT's second varsity eight by more than six seconds.
The second race featured three boats as Bucknell's varsity eight and second varsity eight raced against MIT's varsity eight. The Bison second varsity eight ended up capturing the race by more than four seconds over its teammates in the varsity eight. MIT was 10 seconds behind in third place.
Following the day's races, Bucknell's seven seniors - Olivia Knodt, Devon Mitchell, Meghan O'Reilly, Elizabeth Regan, Kerry Sullivan, Kim Weaver and Mary Wilson - were honored during Senior Day ceremonies. Saturday's race was Bucknell's last home event of the year.
The Bison will be back in action next weekend when they have important competitions on back-to-back days. On Saturday, they will face Dartmouth, Penn and Princeton, and on Sunday they will go for their fifth consecutive Patriot League title.
