LEWISBERRY, Pa. (Pinchot Lake) – One day after competing in 11 races against Rhode Island and Old Dominion, the Bucknell women's rowing team was in action Sunday morning at Pinchot Lake against Kansas. The Bison swept all four races from the Jayhawks, including the varsity eight. It marked the first time in program history Bucknell raced head-to-head with Kansas.
The Bison varsity eight, which lost by less than a second to Rhode Island on Saturday, got back on the winning side Sunday, defeating Kansas by nearly 19 seconds. It was the widest margin of victory for Bucknell in the four races. The second varsity eight, varsity four and novice eight also posted wins.
Bucknell hosted both Saturday's and Sunday's races on Pinchot Lake in Lewisberry, Pa. It marked the first time the Bison had raced on the course.
Bucknell will be back in action next week on its customary home course on the Susquehanna River when it hosts new Patriot League member MIT. The team will be celebrating Senior Day as it will be the final home event of the 2010 campaign.
