Bucknell Women's Golf Opens with 333 at Hilton Head

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. -- Katie Jurenovich (Warren, Ohio/Howland) and Minjoo Lee (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) posted matching 79s on Saturday to lead Bucknell on day one of the Low Country Intercollegiate at Moss Creek Golf Club. The Bison carded a 333 team score and sit in 12th place with 18 holes remaining on Sunday.
Lee, who shot a 1-over-par 37 on the front nine, and Jurenovich, who was 2-over on the back, both stand in 20th place on the individual leaderboard.
Freshman Alana Friedlander (Weston, Conn./Weston) had a strong back nine and posted an 87 for the Bison, while Brittany Rendell (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) shot 88 and Leah Antkiewicz (Aliquippa, Pa./Quigley Catholic) 94.
Tournament co-host Western Carolina has the team lead after opening with a 304. Augusta State, James Madison and Jacksonville are all five shots back. Bucknell is ahead of The Citadel (337) and Gardner-Webb (352). The Bison are four shots behind Elon and Radford and six behind Penn State.
Appalachian State's Yue Xu, Augusta State's Natalie Wille, Western Carolina's Blaire Minter and Richmond's Jillian Fraccola are all tied for first at 2-over par (74). Three others are one shot back, and Lee and Jurenovich are two of 25 players separated by just five strokes at the top of the standings.
Sunday's final round begins with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
