KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- Minjoo Lee (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) fired a 78 on Monday to lead the Bucknell contingent in the second round of the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Intercollegiate. Playing the Cougar Point Course at Kiawah, the Bison posted a team score of 331 and stand in 30th place with one more round still to come.
Bucknell started its second round on the back nine at Cougar Point, and Lee got off to a very strong start. Two birdies offset two bogies and she carded an even-par 36 on her opening nine. Lee shot 42 on her second nine and finished with a 78, one better than her first-round score.
Katie Jurenovich (Warren, Ohio/Howland), who also opened with a 79 on Sunday, posted an 80 in round two. Also for the Bison, Brittany Rendell (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) shot 85, and Leah Antkiewicz (Aliquippa, Pa./Quigley Catholic) and Alana Friedlander (Weston, Conn./Weston) both shot 88.
With a 657 total, Bucknell leads Old Dominion by one stroke and is well in front of The Citadel and South Carolina Upstate. The Bison trail Southern Illinois and Winthrop by three shots heading into Tuesday's final round.
