Bucknell Women's Golf Opens with 326 at Kiawah Island Intercollegiate

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- Led by 79s from Katie Jurenovich (Warren, Ohio/Howland) and Minjoo Lee (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) and an 81 from Brittany Rendell (Winnetka, Ill/New Trier), the Bucknell women's golf team began play at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Intercollegiate with a 326 team score on Sunday.
Jurenovich, Lee and Rendell made two birdies apiece as the Bison opened their spring season on a high note. Freshman Alana Friedlander (Weston, Conn./Weston) added an 87 and Leah Antkiewicz (Aliquippa, Pa./Quigley Catholic) a 92 for the Bison, who sit in a tie for 26th place with Richmond in a competitive 33-team field.
Augusta State took the lead with a 4-under-par 284, six shots better than East Carolina. The Bison are nine shots out of the top 20, and they are currently ahead of Winthrop, Morehead State, Southern Illinois, Old Dominion, The Citadel and South Carolina Upstate.
Sarah Mooney of Augusta State has the individual lead after opening with a 4-under 68. Josefine Sundh of Western Carolina is one shot back, as 15 players shot even par or better on Sunday.
The 54-hole tournament continues Monday and Tuesday.
