Bison Men's Tennis Defeats Saint Francis

LORETTO, Pa. -- The Bucknell men's tennis team notched its first victory of the spring season on Friday night, a 6-1 decision over Saint Francis (Pa.). The Bison won all three doubles matches by 8-4 scores and then took five of the six singles contests.
Anton Kovic (Montreal, Quebec/Milton Academy (Mass.)) and Gregg Cohenca (Purchase, N.Y./Rye Country Day School) teamed up for a victory at No. 1 doubles, then both players won three-set matches at No. 1 and 2 singles, respectively. Kovic rallied to defeat Elahn Pogue, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3, while Cohenca split the first two sets with Steven Child before winning the third, 6-4.
Evan Zimmer (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex), Clark Bogle (Hingham, Mass./Thayer Academy) and Gregory Maxson (Mt. Pleasant, S.C./Hotchkiss) all won in straight sets at 4-6 singles. Bogle and Josh Katten (Plainview, N.Y./Plainview JFK) were victorious at No. 2 doubles, and the tandem of Zimmer/Maxson won at No. 3 doubles.
The lone win for the Red Flash came from Jordan Kowalski at No. 3 singles.
The Bison are now 1-2 on the season, and they will next take on Penn State on Sunday at 2 p.m. in University Park, Pa.
