About Friday's Matches
Bucknell will return to action this Friday when it hosts the Bison Duals against Drexel and EIWA foe Princeton at Davis Gym. The Bison have been idle for two weeks following their Dec. 3 home match with nationally ranked Lehigh to concentrate on final exams. Admission to Friday's matches is free. Competition will start at 11 a.m. with Drexel facing Princeton. This is the second straight year these three teams have convened on Davis Gym for a mid-December tri-meet.
About Bucknell
Bucknell is coming off a brutal stretch of matches when it faced three top-25 teams in a seven-day span. The Bison bring a 1-3 overall mark, including 0-1 vs. EIWA foes, into Friday's matches. Bucknell has won eight straight matches against unranked opponents. Neither Drexel or Princeton show up in the national rankings.
About Drexel
Drexel is 3-6 this year and posted a 1-2 mark at the Bloomsburg Duals last weekend. The Dragons, who have wrestled at home just once this year, defeated East Stroudsburg at the Bloomsburg Duals, but lost to Buffalo and host Bloomsburg. Drexel does not have any wrestlers listed in the InterMat national rankings.
About Princeton
Princeton, which is 1-4 overall this year and 0-1 against EIWA opponents, lost its two most recent matches at Rutgers (L, 42-0) and at home against Rider (L, 30-10). The Tigers' lone win was against George Mason (W, 29-16). Sophomore 125-pounder Garrett Frey, who advanced to the EIWA finals last March, shows up in the national rankings at No. 11.
Bucknell vs. Drexel/Princeton
• Bucknell is 8-18 all-time against Drexel. The Bison have won each of the last two meetings.
• Bucknell is 2-4 all-time against EIWA opponent Princeton. The Bison have won the last two meetings by a combined 84-6 score.

Last Time Out
Bucknell lost its home opener to No. 15 Lehigh, 25-9, on Dec. 3 in a match that was closer than the score indicated. Kevin LeValley, Brantley Hooks and Corey Lear posted victories for the Bison, who trailed 11-9 over halfway through the match. Lear's win at 165 pounds was the most impressive of the day as he upset No. 13 Brandon Hatchett, 1-0.
LeValley Continues Success
Bucknell All-American Kevin LeValley improved to 8-0 this year with a 4-0 decision last time out against Lehigh. He is now 50-8 over the last two years and is one of just six Bison to ever reach the 100-win plateau (101-37). LeValley, who has won 13 straight duals, has not lost a regular-season bout since last Jan. 8 at the Virginia Duals to Oklahoma's No. 4-ranked Kyle Terry. He is Bucknell's lone ranked (No. 3 at 149 pounds) and undefeated wrestler this year.
Bison Look to Snap Streak
Bucknell is in the midst of a three-match losing streak as it has dropped consecutive matches to No. 22 Nebraska, No. 2 Oklahoma State and No. 15 Lehigh. The Bison have not lost more than three in a row since a four-match losing streak that spanned the final match of the 2007-08 campaign and the first three of 2008-09.
EIWA Success
Bucknell is 10-2 in its last 12 EIWA duals. The Bison had won eight in a row before losing to nationally ranked Lehigh two weeks ago.
Bucknell vs. Ranked Opponents
Bucknell has wrestled 22 ranked opponents since the beginning of 2006-07 and is 1-21 in those matches. The lone win over that span was a 17-16 victory over No. 25 Columbia in February 2007.
Bucknell Individuals vs. Ranked Opponents
Bucknell wrestlers have faced 23 ranked opponents this year and are 4-19. Kevin LeValley (2), Nicholas Czapla (1) and Corey Lear (1) have earned the wins.
Consistent Lineup
Bucknell has used the same lineup in each of its first four duals. Last year the Bison utilized 10 different starting lineups in the season's first 11 matches.
.500 Record
Bucknell, in 2010-11, will be aiming for its third consecutive above-.500 finish. The Bison have not finished above .500 in three straight years since 1992-93, 1993-94 and 1994-95.
Wirnsberger Second on Wins List
Bucknell head coach Dan Wirnsberger has guided the Bison to a 45-38-2 record over the last five years. He now ranks second on the Bucknell all-time wins list, trailing only longtime Bison mentor Bobby Ferraro, who posted a 169-175-6 mark from 1974-97.
Double-Figure Wins
Four Bison (Nicholas Czapla, Jay Hahn, Zac Hancock, Corey Lear) have already reached 10 wins this season.
Seniors Lead the Way
Seniors Kevin LeValley (149 pounds) and Brantley Hooks (157 pounds) have combined to go 7-1 in duals and have contributed 24 points (of 66) to the Bison team score with those victories.
December Home Matches
Bucknell had not lost a December home match since the program was reinstated in 2006-07 prior to the Lehigh match two weeks ago. The Bison were 10-0 in December before that, winning by a total score of 353-83.
2011 EIWA Championships
Bucknell's Sojka Pavilion will host the 107th EIWA Championships March 5-6. It is the first time the Bison will be the host school for the prestigious event. It will be the second wrestling competition to ever be held in the eight-year-old Sojka Pavilion, Bucknell's primary basketball venue. The Bison hosted 23-time NCAA champion Iowa and Rutgers in the facility in November 2009. (Buy Tickets)
Up Next
Bucknell will return to tournament competition Dec. 28-29 at the Midlands Championships in Evanston, Ill. The Bison finished 13th of 54 teams at the event last year with Kevin LeValley (3rd at 149) and Shane Riccio (7th at 174) placing in their brackets.
