LEWISBURG, Pa. – On Sunday, Jan. 9, at Kinney Natatorium, the Bucknell swimming and diving program will be swimming to fight cancer. The Bison men's and women's teams are partnering with Swim Across America (SAA) in sponsoring an event to raise money for cancer research. Bucknell family, friends and alumni are invited to swim one mile or one-half mile and commit to raising $100 for cancer research.
Swim Across America is dedicated to raising money and awareness for cancer research, prevention and treatment through swimming-related events. With the help of hundreds of volunteers nationwide as well as past and current Olympians, SAA is helping to find a cure for cancer through athleticism, community outreach and direct service.
The Bucknell swimming and diving program welcomes swimmers of all ages to participate in the swim, which will begin at 1 p.m. To sign up for the swim, please visit http://www.swimacrossamerica.org/bucknell and click on the “Swim with Us” link above the progress thermometer.
