LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell field hockey's Kelly Bruvik (Skillman, N.J./Stuart Country Day) and Corinne Raczek (Ocean Township, N.J./Ocean Township) were named to the Patriot League All-Tournament Team, the league announced on Saturday. The senior duo helped lead the Bison to their third consecutive postseason appearance, but the team was unable to pull off the upset, falling 3-2 to second-seeded Lafayette.
Bruvik led No. 3 Bucknell with three points in the contest against Lafayette. After assisting on a goal by Mallory Smith (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) in the first half, Bruvik followed up with a goal of her own just prior to halftime. The offensive production placed Bruvik in the program's top in career and single-season points. She finishes her career in the Orange and blue with 60 career points, tying her for 10th all-time, while her 26 points this season ties her for ninth.
Although Raczek's contributions in the Bison's semifinal game did not show up in the box score last Friday, the midfielder became known throughout her career for her selfless play. After four years, Raczek shares the program record for assists in a career (34) and a single-season (16), which she set in 2008. Her name also appears fourth (10) and 12th (7) on the single-season list.
Bruvik led Bucknell with 10 goals and 26 points this season, while Raczek held the team's high in assists with seven.
Bucknell closed out the 2010 season with a 7-12 record overall and a 3-2 mark in the Patriot League. The Bison placed five members on All-Patriot League Teams, including Bruvik and Christine Weiss (Bethlehem, Pa./Southern Lehigh) on the first team, and Morgan Kauffman (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor, Rachel Misko (Morristown, N.J./Madison) and Tayler Siegrist (Madison, N.J./Madison) on the second. Misko was also named the Patriot League Rookie of the Year, while Weiss was voted the league's Field Hockey Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
