LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell's Kelly Bruvik (Skillman, N.J./Stuart Country Day) continued to add to her field hockey resume on Thursday, earning a spot on the 2010 Longstreth/NFHCA All-Mideast Region Second Team. The senior became the ninth Bison since 2005 to claim all-region honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association after leading the team in goals and points this fall.
The award is one of three Bruvik has claimed during the 2010 postseason. The forward was also recognized as a unanimous first team selection to the All-Patriot League Team in addition to earning All-Patriot League Tournament Team honors earlier this month. Bruvik was one of five unanimous all-league selections after tallying a career-best 23 points on nine goals and five assists during the regular season.
Bruvik's offensive production continued into the Patriot League Tournament where she led the third-seeded Bison with three points on a goal and an assist in the first half. The performance moved the captain up the program's record lists, tying her for 10th all-time in career points (60) and ninth in single-season points (23). Bruvik is also tied for seventh in career goals (26) and 13th in single-season goals (10).
With a team-best 10 goals and 26 points in her final season with the Bison, Bruvik's name can also be found among the Patriot League's top 10 in points, goals, assists and game-winners this fall.
Bucknell closed out the 2010 season with an overall record of 7-12 and a 3-2 mark in the Patriot League.
