LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell women's basketball's Rachel Voss (Cincinnati, Ohio/Loveland) earned her second Patriot League/Anaconda Rookie of the Week citation on Monday. The freshman averaged 13.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game and shot an impressive .474 from the field to help the Bison to back-to-back league wins last week.
Voss' top performance came on Saturday as she led the Orange and Blue to a 60-47 victory over Colgate. The guard tallied 20 points on 7-for-14 shooting and nine rebounds, all career highs. Voss scored 16 of her points in the first half against the Raiders, passing her previous career high of 13, which she had posted twice this season. Voss also had two assists and a steal in the contest.
Earlier in the week, Voss recorded her 100th point of the season as the Bison defeated Lafayette, 55-42. She finished with seven points, which brought her career total to 106, and two assists. Voss has since brought her season scoring total to 126, the most of any Bison freshman this year.
Voss also earned the title of the league's top rookie for the week ending Nov. 29. She has posted season averages of 7.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game while playing in all 18 of Bucknell's contests and drawing 14 starts. Those numbers rank her eight in the Patriot League in assists and 28th in scoring.
Bucknell will try to keep its winning streak alive as it heads to Lehigh to take on the league's defending champions on Wednesday. Tipoff in Bethlehem, Pa., is slated for 7 p.m.
