Bucknell Women's Golf Has Solid Opening Day at Bison Fall Classic

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Minjoo Lee (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) and Katie Jurenovich (Warren, Ohio/Howland) both posted rounds of 76 and the Bucknell women's golf team opened the 2009-10 season with a solid day at the Bison Fall Classic. Playing 54 holes at a damp Bucknell Golf Club on Saturday, the Bison turned in team scores of 318 and 315 and sit in a tie for fourth place with Youngstown State with 18 holes remaining on Sunday.
Lee opened with a 78, then shot 76 in the afternoon, and she sits in a tie for seventh place individually, eight shots off the pace. Jurenovich carded her 76 in the morning round and followed with an 80, and she is tied for 11th in a 63-player field.
Led by individual leader Caroline Sweet's rounds of 72-74, William & Mary is outdistancing the 12-team field with a 36-hole total of 595 (294-301). Second-place Marshall (624) is 29 strokes behind the Tribe, while Columbia (628), Bucknell (633) and Youngstown State (633) are all right behind. Albany (637), Lehigh (638), Rutgers (642), Robert Morris (678), Kutztown (700) and McDaniel (715) round out the field.
Also for the Bison, Kelsey Meybin (Midlothian, Va./Saint Gertrude) shot 82-79, Brittany Rendell (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) carded 82-80, and Leah Antkiewicz (Aliquippa, Pa./Quigley Catholic) shot a pair of 85s.
The Bison wrap up play at their fall tournament on Sunday, beginning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
