LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Fox Soccer Channel on Thursday annouced that the Oct. 30 men's soccer match between Bucknell and Lafayette at Emmitt Field at Holmes Stadium will air live as part of the network's Game of the Week package. This will be Fox Soccer Channel's second appearance in Lewisburg in the last three years, as it also televised Bucknell's 3-1 win over Lehigh in 2007.
It will be the third straight year the Bison men's soccer team has appeared on national television. Last fall, Bucknell's 2-0 win at Penn State aired on the Big Ten Network.
Under an ongoing agreement with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), Fox Soccer Channel's live and exclusive NSCAA College Game of the Week telecasts will include eight women's and 12 men's matches. All but one of the women's matches will be featured on Sunday afternoon, while 11 of the 12 men's matches will be played on Friday nights. Last season, FSC aired the Army-Navy men's match, making this the third straight season the Patriot League has been included in the Game of the Week slate.
Bucknell, coming off an 8-8-3 campaign, opens its 2009 schedule on Sept. 1 at home against La Salle.
