LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell men's and women's swimming and diving head coach Dan Schinnerer on Tuesday announced the addition of six student-athletes to the men's program for the 2009-10 campaign. The six members of the recruiting class come from five different states, including Illinois and Colorado. The newcomers will join a team that has finished second at each of the last two Patriot League Championships.
“Overall, we are pleased to bring in another solid class,” remarked Schinnerer, who will be entering his fourth year on the Kinney Natatorium pool deck this coming fall and was the 2007-08 Patriot League Men's Coach of the Year. “A number of the young men have the potential to make immediate impacts this coming season. I am also excited about the fact we were able to recruit on a national scale and ink some talented athletes from outside of our typical recruiting areas.”
Bucknell posted a 7-2 overall mark in 2008-09 and was 5-1 opposite Patriot League foes. The Bison lost six seniors to graduation, but return eight of their nine All-Patriot League selections. Freshmen made quite an impact for Bucknell in 2008-09 with five rookies being named All-Patriot League.
