Bucknell's Men's Tennis Team To Compete At Patriot League Tournament Friday

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bison men's tennis team will kick off its run at a Patriot League championship with an opening quarterfinal match against Lehigh Friday. The tournament, hosted by Army, at West Point, N.Y., has the Bison (7-10, 2-3 in Patriot League play) taking on the Mountain Hawks (7-15, 2-4 in Patriot League play) at 9 a.m.
On Thursday, April 9, Bucknell handily defeated Lehigh 6-1 on the Fieldhouse Courts, led by sophomores Mark Malloy and Anton Kovic, who each won in doubles and singles matches.
The Bison are the No. 4 seed going into the tournament and the Mountain Hawks are seeded fifth and are looking to make their third-straight semifinal match.
With a victory, the Bison will take on No. 1 seeded Navy on Saturday at 9 a.m. The Mids defeated Bucknell 6-1 on March 29, at Navy.
Last year's Patriot League Tournament resulted with Bucknell exit in the semifinals, after a 4-0 loss to Army. The third-seeded Bison defeated the sixth-seeded Lehigh 5-1 in their quarterfinal opening match.
The Bison will conclude their season with a match against Bloomsburg, on Wednesday, April 22, at 4:30 p.m. on the Fieldhouse Courts.
