Bucknell Women's Golf Slips One Spot at Big South Championship Despite 76 from Lee

NINETY-SIX, S.C. -- Freshman Minjoo Lee (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) shot a 4-over 76 in the second round of the Big South Championship on Tuesday, but the Bucknell squad slipped one spot from sixth to seventh place despite a six-stroke improvement on its first-round score.
Playing in rain for much of the day, the Bison posted a team total of 327, despite catching a tough break when No. 1 player Katie Jurenovich (Warren, Ohio/Howland) had to withdraw due to illness. Jurenovich, who was named to the Academic All-Big South Team at Monday night's awards banquet, tied for eighth at the 2008 Big South Championship .
Bucknell is now at 660 for the tournament, one shot behind High Point, which posted a 318 on Tuesday after opening with a 341. Led by a 3-under 69 from Aruka Felgueroso, Coastal Carolina finished with a 296 in the second round and maintained the team lead by 10 shots over Charleston Southern (621).
Winthrop is in third at 625, followed by radford at 629, Gardner-Webb at 646, High Point at 659, Bucknell at 660, Presbyterian at 681 and Holy Cross at 728. Presbyterian's scores are not counted in the standings due to its transitional status to Division I.
Freshman Kelsey Meybin (Midlothian, Va./Saint Gertrude), who began the day in a tie for fourth place after an opening-round 78, followed with an 81, and she is now tied for 11th. Lee's terrific 76 came after a first-round 87, and she moved all the way up to T-19th.
Senior Deirdre Moran (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame) was also much-improved on Tuesday. She fired an 83, five better than her opening round. Freshman Brittany Rendell (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) shot 87.
In Wednesday's third and final round, Bucknell will be paired with Holy Cross and Presbyterian and will tee off at 8:30 a.m.
