Bucknell Women's Golf Opens Play at Low Country Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- All five Bucknell golfers shot between 85 and 88 on the first day of the Low Country Intercollegiate women's tournament, and the Bison opened with a team score of 345 at Moss Creek GC.
Freshman Kelsey Meybin (Midlothian, Va./Saint Gertrude) led the way with an 85, while senior Deirdre Moran (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame) and freshman Minjoo Lee (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) both shot 86 and sophomore Katie Jurenovich (Warren, Ohio/Howland) and freshman Brittany Rendell (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) both carded 88s.
The Bison are one shot ahead of Old Dominion, six in front of Radford and 26 ahead of Appalachian State in the 12-team field. Western Carolina opened with a 316 and has a one-stroke lead on Longwood.
Blaire Minter of Western Carolina leads the individual standings after shooting a 1-over 73. Three others are four shots back.
The second and final round will get underway on Sunday with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
