CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (Rivanna Reservoir) – Saturday marked the second straight day the Bucknell women's rowing team competed on the Rivanna Reservoir. One day after facing nationally ranked Virginia on its home course, the Bison went up against North Carolina and swept five races from the Tar Heels.

Each of Bucknell's winning boats timed in more than seven seconds ahead of North Carolina. The varsity eight was the closest race, but the Bison still won that by nearly eight seconds as they recorded a time of 6 minutes, 58.24 seconds. North Carolina crossed the finish line in 7:06.20.

Last year, Bucknell took five of six races when facing the Tar Heels. The only boat not to win last season was the second novice eight. On Saturday, the Bison second novice eight won its race in 7:44.60, more than eight seconds faster than North Carolina's 7:52.87.

After competing on back-to-back days, Bucknell will now be idle until next Saturday when it rows at the Murphy Cup on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, Pa.
