LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bison men's tennis team will take on Duquesne this Saturday in Pittsburgh at 1 p.m. Bucknell won its first match this spring against Quinnipiac last weekend by a score of 5-2.
Junior Zach Hascoe (Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick) and sophomore Mark Malloy (Bronxville, N.Y./Hackley School) look to lead the men in doubles competition where they've not lost this year and have only lost twice in their careers, boasting an overall record of 10-2. Teammates Anton Kovic (Montreal, Quebec/Milton Academy (Mass.)) and Ryan Sandburg (Orange, Calif./Canyon), a sophomore and a senior, also won their match against Quinnipiac last weekend and carry a strong overall record of 9-4 in their careers.
In singles, the Bison men will rely on their veterans, Sandburg and senior Jonathan Brenner (Manhasset, N.Y./Chaminade), to pull out victories against the 1-1 Duquesne squad which has picked up a victory against Wright State and a loss against Louisville this season.
The Bison were originally set to play at Robert Morris Sunday but that match is no longer being contested.
Bucknell will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 21, against Hofstra at West Branch Tennis Club in Williamsport, Pa.
