LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell women's lacrosse team will have to wait one additional day to open its 2009 season. The Bison were scheduled to host Wagner on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 4 p.m., but the game has been postponed due to a winter weather advisory in the Central Susquehanna Valley. The game has been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 19, at 4 p.m. at Graham Field at Holmes Stadium.
Bucknell, which defeated Wagner 19-13 last year in a game where Carol Donohue set school records with eight assists and 13 points, was 6-8 in 2008 in its first year under head coach Caline McHenry and is picked to finish fifth in the Patriot League this season. The Seahawks, who were 3-13 last year, are under the guidance of first-year head coach Christina Curiale and were picked eighth out of nine teams in the Northeast Conference.
