Bison Swimming and Diving Hosts Three-Day Bucknell Open this Weekend

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell swimming and diving teams have been idle for nearly three weeks and have not competed at home in more than a month, but that will all change this weekend when the Bison men's and women's squads host the Bucknell Open inside Kinney Natatorium. The three-day meet begins Friday and will feature preliminaries each morning at 10 a.m. and the finals each evening at 6 p.m.
Brown, La Salle, Princeton, Rider and Syracuse will all send their men's and women's teams to compete at the event this weekend, while only Columbia's men will compete.
The Bucknell Open schedule will closely resemble a Patriot League Championship meet's itinerary.
Both Bucknell teams most recently competed at the non-scoring Princeton Big Al Open Nov. 13-14. The Bison women are 5-1 overall in dual-meet competition and 2-1 against Patriot League foes. Bucknell's men are 3-2 overall and 2-1 in Patriot League competition.
Following the Bucknell Open, the Bison will be off for more than a month before resuming dual-meet competition on Jan. 9 at Colgate. Bucknell's only other home meet this year is Jan. 17 against Columbia.
