LEWISBURG, Pa. - For the eighth consecutive year, four Bucknell field hockey players were named to the All-Patriot League teams on Tuesday. Corinne Raczek (Ocean Township, N.J./Ocean Township) and Megan Krebs (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./G.A.R. Memorial) were voted to the league's First Team, while Morgan Kauffman (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) and Christine Weiss (Bethlehem, Pa./Southern Lehigh) earned Second Team citations.
Raczek closed out her regular season with 11 points on one goal and nine assists. That assist tally ranks her second in the Patriot League behind teammate Kauffman. In league action, the junior forward registered six points in five games. Her lone goal of the season came in a 1-0 shutout over Lafayette, leading to a Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week nod on Oct. 5.
Krebs earns her second First Team nod after posting 10 points on four goals and two assists for the Bison during her senior campaign. Two of those goals came against league opponents, most recently in the 3-0 win over Holy Cross last weekend that clinched a piece of the Patriot League title for Bucknell. Krebs ranks in the Patriot League's top 10 in shots and shots per game, and will finish her career in Orange and Blue ranked among the university's leaders in career points, goals and assists.
Kauffman led the Bison with 20 points on five goals and 10 assists in her junior season. That team-high includes seven points in five games of league play. Kauffman wrapped up the regular season by ranking in the Patriot League's top 10 in five statistical categories, including first in assists and assists per game. The midfielder was also named the league's Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 8.
Weiss has had perhaps the strongest season of her career, earning 15 points on six goals and three assists as well as leading a Bison backfield that ranks among the league's top teams in scoring margin, goals allowed and shutouts. The junior defender has three goals in league competition, two of them coming against Colgate in October. Weiss also posted a career-best five-point performance in non-conference action, gathering two goals and an assist at Columbia. Weiss was recognized previously as the league's Defensive Player of the Week on Oct.5.
The awards are the second of the career for Raczek, Krebs and Kauffman. Krebs was selected to the First Team as a sophomore in 2007, while Raczek and Kauffman were both voted to the Second Team last season.
Awards and All-League selections are determined by a vote of Patriot League head coaches.
The quartet's award-winning seasons have helped lead Bucknell to a first-place tie in the Patriot League regular-season standings with a league tally of 4-1. The Bison enter the league's tournament with a 12-6 record overall, marking their second consecutive winning season.
Bucknell will return to the field at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6 when it takes on Lafayette in the Patriot League Tournament Semifinals at American University. The Bison defeated the Leopards in last year's semifinal game, 4-2.
